I was reading a post on Facebook recently about natural childbirth and how today the process has been turned into an almost traumatic ordeal. Although I realize that many c-sections could possibly be avoided and that what is a beautiful, natural process has been turned into a medical event, I also appreciate the blessings that come from modern medicine.
All three of my kids were born by c-section. My first was 17 days over due and I was induced on a Friday and then sent home and on Monday induced for over 17 hours and didn't even dilate to 1. That was 22 years ago and they were confused as to why that was happening as he wouldn't even drop. So they did an xray (Yes! Gasp..an xray..keep in mind it was 22 years ago). They determined that he was 9 pounds 6 ounces, give or take a pound. The problem was that the inside of my pelvic bone was too narrow to give birth to any baby who was over 4 pounds.
The c-section wasn't fun, but the result was a beautiful, 9 pound 14 ounce baby boy. The day we were to leave the hospital two nurses came into the room with tears in their eyes. They told me that they had to keep the baby because lab results showed that I had group B strep.
They explained that it is a vaginal infection that pregnant women sometimes get and for some reason it seems to run in patterns where they see a lot of it. They went on to explain that if the baby got it they would have swelling of the brain and it generally wasn't even caught before it did massive brain damage or the baby died due to the ability of the newborn's skull to expand because of the soft spot. They further informed me that in the last month they had four newborns die of this and one that had severe brain damage.
They did a UA on my newborn and he tested positive for the anti-body. They explained that they can get a false positive, but because of that they had to do a spinal tap on him, put him on IV antibiotics and keep him until the spinal tap results came back. If positive they would have to keep him for up to 14 days. Oh, and the type of antibiotics they would have to put him on could cause liver damage and hearing loss.
I cried when the Dr. told me after 3 days that he did not test positive and could be taken off of the antibiotics. What did the Dr think saved him from getting this infection even though he was 17 days over due and induced twice for an extended time period? The c-section! He said that even though I was induced, my water never broke and had that happened, my son would have been exposed to that for all those hours. Then, had he started to "go down the shoot" (as my then husband who is a veterinarian called it), he would have had great difficulty getting into the birth canal and would have possibly been stuck there and they would have had to use suction. All that time he would have been exposed even longer to the bacteria.
On August 22nd my son turned 22. He is a senior at MIT in Cambridge, majoring in aerospace engineering, otherwise known as a rocket scientist. LOL... He is also the starting linebacker and co-captain of the MIT Fighting Engineers Football team. Today is the first game of his senior year.
Do I wish I could have had a beautiful, peaceful birth? Sure. Do I think it would have been cool to have one of those water births? Sure, ok. I've often been asked if I feel like I was cheated because I had c-sections and never had a "real" birth. I'm happy to say that I don't miss having not experienced that. All I have to do is look at my son and anything we went through during that time was nothing but a blessing.
Those who run in astrological circles are well aware of a time period known as Mercury Retrograde. I won't get into the technical details of what Mercury retrograde is , bu generally the two words can't even be said without a moan or rolling of the eyes accompanying the phrase. This is because during this time the energy is such that there are more opportunities for confusing communication, miscommunication, problems with shipping, contracts, and just all around frustrations in general. Basically, it sucks. Sometimes this plays out in my personal life and sometimes it doesn't. Unfortunately it seems that this particular Mercury Retrograde has decided make itself known more strongly than others have in the past.
On August 3rd, 2011 Mercury officially entered its retrograde period that would last until August 26th. In the grand scheme of things this may not seem all that long, but there is a time period known as the shadow that starts about weeks before and extends two weeks after this time frame.
On July 29th I was informed by KEEN, a company who I have an affiliate marketing agreement with, that the transactions generated by my ads were "suspicious". Because of this they decided to just delete $1,300 in commissions that I rightfully earned for the month of July. *POOF*... GONE... NO MORE.. So Sorry..
I contacted Commission Junction, the company that manages the partnership and was told that it didn't look like I had done anything fraudulent on my end. Ummm.. no.. I haven't.
I've exchanged numerous emails with KEEN's affiliate contact, Steven Chang and received several explanations as to why they have chosen to take this action. At first I was told that my links didn't work. When I checked the links they changed their story and said that they never said they were broken, but then asked me for screen shots. I sent the screen shots only to be told that the screen shots didn't really tell them anything.
I asked for further clarification and was told that of the customers that completed the transactions, only 5% came back and spent more money. Since the terms of the promotion from an affiliate stand point were that they had to spend "any amount of money", I didn't understand why this was a disqualifying issue.
I then received another email explaining that although the customers completed the transactions that were required for me to earn my affiliate commission, the customers had "suspicious" email accounts. I'm not sure what that means or how they would determine that an account was "suspicious".
Knowing how this promotion works I asked how that would matter since each person had to enter a credit or debit card to take advantage of the promotion. I asked if they shared an IP address and if so, if they could share those with me.
The next email explained that the accounts used pre-paid credit cards and the billing address for the cards didn't match the state that the IP address was from. So, do prepaid credit cards HAVE billing addresses?? Also, the IP address for an email account can vary depending on what mail service you use and isn't always dependent upon the state you live in.

Spiritually Advanced? Maybe not what you think

While appearing as a guest on a Blog Talk Radio show last night we received what I label a "troll call". This was a person who calls in with the intent to try and discredit the guest or the host or just generally be a jerk. In the case of last night's caller when they were unmuted one female caller started talking to another female caller in the background, talking about me as a reader and specifically calling me a "KEEN" reader, referring to a website I used to read on. They then proceeded to say that I "sucked" before the host of the show finally caught on and dropped their call.
What is interesting about this is a couple of things. The first is that I haven't been an active reader on KEEN for well over a year, and closer to two years. The second is that one of the reasons I left Blog Talk Radio in the first place over a year ago was because of the negative energy people who seem to stalk the site and who find pleasure in trying to discredit intuitives. The very sad thing about this is that the majority of the people who are guilty of this are actually readers or hosts of shows themselves.
Being an empath this negative type of energy is something that I can be especially sensitive to and it can throw off my concentration and enthusiasm. A friend of mine who was in the show chatroom sent me a private message, telling me to shake it off and ignore the trolls. Very good advice and one that I will be specifically working on with deliberate intention.
Immediately following the call another caller was welcomed onto the show with us and a brief discussion ensued about the troll that had just called. It is my belief that there are a lot of people out there who call themselves psychics, spiritual, lightworkers, or what have you that aren't on a truly spiritual path. The caller was a great example of this. This type of behavior only hurts the metaphysical world and the work that many of us dedicate our lives to.
I'm sure that you have heard this rant before from others, but I would like to introduce a new twist to this. When someone behaves in the manner that the troll caller did, its easy for everyone, including myself, to say that they must not be very spiritually advanced. Well, I propose that we maybe look at this in another way. Perhaps they are even more "advanced" along their path that any of us are. Perhaps they chose to come back into this life to be a bad example of how to behave and they made that choice knowing that this life wouldn't be as easy for them. They would always be filled with anger, resentment, and a bitter heart that would lead them to attack others. Through their actions however they provide others with the opportunity to evaluate how they behave and to solidify what they believe to be behavior that is honorable to them.
So, although trolls aren't any fun, we can turn this around and choose to thank their higher selves for providing us with a good example of what a bad example of behavior is!

We the Archeia are the Divine Compliments of the Arch Angels. We have never walked the Earth. We are a vibration. I am the Vibrations of Hope. I celebrate and sing this vibration with the Earth constantly. The Earth is a living being. She is more powerful than most people give Her credit for. She has a better understanding of evolution than humans do. She wants Humans to think about how they like to be treated and treat Her the same. She wants to remind you that nature is always in action. When you observe what you call natural disasters she wants you to understand that these ~disasters ~ are natural. It is a course of Nature. We want you to understand this so you do not think you are being punished.
Next we want to say this ~ your Creator does not punish anyone or thing.
Your Creator is Joy, Love, Unconditionality. Your Creator wants you to understand this and bring yourself back into the place that you are that as well. We the Archeia can help you take the steps to this space. This is our focus to remind you how wondrous you are and you live on a wondrous planet that is ever evolving.
Now that we have given you this information we will speak of 2012.
The shift of 2012 is already happening. It is a mass consciousness shift. In this shift you are experiencing a different way of being on all levels of your beingness. You are being promted to release all ways that do not serve you and to be in a space of unconditionality. You are being promted to simplify your lives, get back to your core. Be present in your lives and your beloveds.
The 2012 is already happening, you are living it right now. Many ideas and ways of being are changing so be flexible and see what resonates with you. Follow your heart and allow yourself to live the life you choose. It truly is OK for you to do so. So figure out what resonates with your heart and start to move into that flow. Trust your inner guidance and clear yourself of all thoughts and actions that no longer serve you.
It is OK for you to ask for guidance on your journey. There are many Ascended Masters, who are ready to aid you. We are here to aid you. This is our focus so allow us to help you.

Connections
In this day and age with so many distractions we have to remember our connections to one another, our spirit guides and our connection to our Creator. When we remember these connections great energy pours through us and we are able to support one another in our efforts. We remember every one is unique including ourselves and we utilize the gifts we chose to use in this lifetime.
*In this day and age many of you have bought into the idea of lack because of your economy. If you look at this as a gift and think out of the box as to how you can create the life that you desire it will inspire you to utilize the gifts you chose to use in this lifetime. It will help you heal past wounds and expand you on so many levels. Use your imagination and create the ideas your heart desires. This is true healing and it can heal you on so many levels.
